1. Happy New York Fashion Week! Artist Yayoi Kusama, whose retrospective is currently on view through September 30 at the Whitney, turned her attention to fashion in the late 1960s. She opened a clothing boutique at 404 6th Avenue in New York in April 1969. Her “Party Dress,” which accommodated up to twenty five people, sold for $2,000.
