    Know a teen who loves contemporary art? The Whitney’s Youth Insights is now accepting applications for the fall! The free, after-school program is open to New York City high school students in ninth through twelfth grade.

  2. Teens from the Whitney’s Youth Insights program worked with artist Gary Simmons to collect responses to the question, “What are you waiting for?” from their classmates and the larger community. The handwritten scraps of paper were then photographed, printed, and wheatpasted onto a wall, creating a layered, complex, and sometimes contradictory collection of voices and opinions.

    The project is on view twenty-four hours a day, at the corner of Gansevoort and Washington Streets, next to the Whitney’s new building.
